Motorhead only have one Guitarist, Phil Campbell
Motley Crue only have one guitarist, Mick Mars
I'm fairly sure Hendrix was a lone guitarist
The Who only have Pete townshend
And Led Zep managed to cope with just Jimmy Page on Guitar

Also Dream Theater, Pink Floyd, Rush and a host of many more 
I think a 2nd guitarist can be good for harmonies and beefing up the rhythm, I think 3 guitarists is ridiculous I wish Maiden dropped Janick Gers when Adrian came back |
